Mayfield

We had a super fun time camping at Mayfield for the 24th of July. We love spending time with John's brother, Jason, and his family. They are such a fun family to be with. I admire each one of them and I'm so grateful to have them as family and friends. I'm also beginning to get really attached to this place as well! It is so pretty and such a fun place to camp and ride.

This is looking down at our camp. Rhett must have thought that we weren't getting enough exercise just riding so he said it would sure be fun to hike the HUGE mountain across from our camp! I love to exercise so it was fun but it was a workout! Pretty much straight up in some places and a few times I felt like I needed some repelling gear. We came back sore and some of us had our share of scrapes and bruises but I think Rhett's idea was a great one! It literally felt like you were on top of the world!ALMOST to the top...

I believe Dayne was the fishing winner! Actually - I think Dayne is the winner of everything. He rides the fastest, runs the fastest, he saves me (when I wreck) the fastest, he chops wood the fastest, he makes us laugh the fastest, he is the fastest fisherman, he can change his clothes the fastest and he can even run from the Forest Service the fastest!

LOVE sitting around the campfire - lots of snacks - the warmth feels heavenly and the stomach is sore the next morning because of so much laughter! Absolutely love being with these guys - They are so much fun!

The only downfall to this trip was on the way back to camp from our hike - We rode the bikes up as far as we could :) - Jason's foot hit a stump or rock or something - Ahhh.... His toes looked nasty! So he made a detour to the Emergency Room on the way home. Shattered the toe next to his big toe and he may end up losing the top of it but the Dr. reattached it for now and then he broke the other toe next to it. Wishing you a speedy recovery Jason!
