It's been crazy the past few weeks...
John got a new job - Assistant Foreman working in Oregon. He is not starting until May 2nd because a replacement for his current job had to be hired. This will be quite an adjustment for our family, but John is excited for a change and this is a step up for him. He will be working for eight days and then home for six. He's excited for this after having been on call 24 hours a day for the past 6+ years. I kept pushing him to apply for the Foreman job but he wouldn't give in. He said this would be enough for him for now :) We know he'll do a great job!
We have shopped like crazy to find everything to adorn Samantha for her Jr. Prom. At times we were very frustrated and it has been quite a process but I can finally say that she will be looking very much like a princess!
Shayla has been busy trying to get everything finished for her classes and is registered to take the AAPC exam on May 21st. She will study extra hard since it cost her $500+ to register for the test. She can take it two times but we're praying that she'll do great the first time! She has one more day of class in Salt Lake and she is ecstatic.
John bought me a new bike - CRF 250. I'm so excited for it to warm up so we can go out and ride. It seems like every weekend it's either freezing cold, snowing, raining or we are shopping for prom. We have had some nice days in the middle of the the week - Why does it always work out that way? We are so looking forward to the warmer weather and to have things dry out a little.
Every spring break we usually go camping and nine out of ten times it's still cold and yucky so we decided to change things up a little and have planned a trip to California and Las Vegas. We have passes for Magic Mountain because this was what the girls wanted to do more than anything other than going to Hawaii. :) Someday maybe... But we are so excited and my sister Rocki and her family are also going and we can't wait to just.......vacation......
Samantha's car broke down and my amazing guy is just AMAZING! He took it down to the shop to see how much to get it fixed and he didn't like the answer he got so he started taking it apart. It was a VERY rough three days for him but he has it running good as new. I really appreciate that we have cars to drive and that John is such an all around good fix-it guy. Cars make things much more convenient! We truly have so much to be grateful for - things happen so quickly that can forever alter our course of life. I have been reminded again this week of how fragile life is and how important it is to make every moment count. I am so grateful for a wonderful family and great friends and I'm working harder to not sweat the small stuff because in the whole big scheme of things they really don't matter.
